The Workshop

It was while giving climate lectures that CΓ©dric Ringenbach one day had the idea of having his interns do this exercise: to put the different graphical causes and effects of the IPCC back in order. Realizing the great pedagogical virtue of the exercise, he regularly used this tool and improved it to its current form.

The required time is 3 hours (1 hour to assemble the Fresk, 1 hour of creativity and 1 hour of debriefing, adjustable). It is not possible to shorten or condense it, as such changes go against the non-modifiable character of the game, which is protected by its user licence.

The workshop has been designed in this 3-hours format because understanding the complexity of climate issues requires time. Shorter presentation would impact negatively the value of the learning and the quality of participants’ experience, in addition to being strictly prohibited by the user licence.

If you can’t find a workshop near you on the website, get in touch with your nearest Country Coordinator, as indicated on this map.

The number of participants per workshop is limited only by the size of the room. As far as logistics are concerned, plan a 2m x 1m table for each group of 7 participants. Number of participants per facilitator varies depending on their experience.

The workshop has proved its worth to all sectors of society: individuals, administrations, but also companies and organisations of all sizes and from all sectors.

The junior version is accessible from the age of 9. We recommend the adult Climate Fresk (simplified or not) from the age of 15.

Anyone can become a facilitator after participating in a Climate Fresk workshop followed by a three-hour Facilitation training course.Β

You can find the dates of the facilitation training courses on the calendar here.

Climate Fresk is aimed at the general public, higher and secondary education, governmental and non-governmental organisations and companies. Contact us to request a workshop. We will pass your details to one of our local coordinators, volunteers or service providers to formulate a response adapted to your needs.

The information comes from the IPCC reports.

The licence that protects the Climate Fresk game does not give the right to modify it in any ways, including adding cards. However, if you believe you have identified a gap, an additional feedback, or impact that could be incorporated in to the pack, we would gladly welcome your feedback at contact@climatefresk.org!

Additionnaly, the Expert version allows to collect any proposal for card additions from animators. You can find the existing templates on the resources tab of your facilitator space if aplicable. Those who have imagined complementary cards are invited to share them with the other members of the association.

You can use the association’s logo by mentioning your use of the Climate Fresk’s TOOL. It is not because you use Climate Fresk that it is a partnership between your structure and the association πŸ˜‰ More generally, communication resources are available on the Facilitator’s space in the “Communicate” section.
