COP25 Madrid

Join us in Madrid for the COP 25!

Context

The 2019 UN Climate Change Conference (COP25) has been relocated to Madrid after Chile renounced to host it just a month before its opening. It is a great opportunity for The Climate Collage to take part in this major international event on climate change!

What’s the COP?

The United Nations Climate Change Conference is an international meeting held every year. It brings together the 197 nations and territories – called Parties – that have signed the United Nations Framework Convention. Its ambition is to assess progress in dealing with climate change, and establish legally binding obligations for developed countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Beside the discussions of the Parties, civil society and non-governmental organisations organize many events such as workshops or roundtable conferences to raise awareness about climate change.

What’s the COY?

The Conference Of the Youth (COY) is held each year just before the COP and is organised by YOUNGO, the official youth constituency at the United NAtions Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It is a network of more than 200 NGOs from all around the world, addressing climate change and promoting sustainable lifestyles, led by people identifying themselves as the youth of today.

What will the Climate Collage do in Madrid?

The Climate Collage will be in Madrid from 28 November to 13 December 2019 as part of civil society. We will organise conferences and Climate Collage workshops to educate as many people in town as we can.

You can facilitate the Climate Collage workshops, or would like to learn how to, and can be in Madrid early December?
